I think we can all agree that we can do better with our money. We are all at different ends of the spectrum on how we manage our money.

But the most important thing is to actually know what money you have coming in and what’s going out so you don’t find yourself in a world of debt.

I know some people use their favorite budgeting app or are obsessed with a good spreadsheet or google sheets, but if you are old school like me and love pen and paper then this is for you (yes I still use a Dollar Tree wall calendar and printed holiday planner)!

Today I have a 7 page printable budget planner to get you taking your first step into financial freedom.

Whether this is a New Year’s resolution or you have college students are trying to understand their personal budget, these easy free budgeting templates are a great way to get started.

So, let’s all create some financial goals and achieve financial freedom!

What’s Included in the Printable Budget Planner

All seven pages of the budget planner are in one PDF file. You can print out as many copies of each free budget worksheet as you need to suit your budgeting method. Most of the free budget template pages are monthly, so you can print out 12 or one for each month of the year.

Money Tracker Printables

The first free printable budget worksheet is an income tracker since knowing the amount of money you have is the most important! You have to know how much money is coming in so you can have control of your finances and not run up a lot of debt.

Depending on if you have one job or a bunch of side hustles, this printable template might be full or not. List the date you received the money, what it was for, where it was from and the amount. Then at the end of the month, you’ll add up your monthly income.

As a craft blogger, my income comes from ads, affiliate sales, sales of my digital content, and so on. As a family budget worksheet, I would add on my husband’s income.

Other income streams depending on your circ*mstances and age may include an allowance, alimony, child support, social security, inheritance, pension, RMD, etc. You will probably have to look at your bank statements to see what gets automatically deposited every month.

Up next, is an expense tracker which is the second most important budgeting tool. Knowing your monthly expenses (or money going out) along with your net income is one of the best ways to keep you out of debt.

Start by filling out the spending tracker with monthly bills that stay the same every month like rent or mortgage, cell phone bill, cable, insurance, health insurance, etc.

Then as you pay the bills that tend to fluctuate like food, water, electrical bill, credit card bill or minimum, write those in. If you need more than one bill tracker, print out multiple!

Plus use our monthly bill tracker to supplement those auto pays!

Up next is a debt tracker worksheet. Print out one for each debt you have such as each credit card that is not paid off, student debt, mortgage, car loan, etc. Fill out all the information about the balance, interest rate, and credit limit at the top so you don’t have to keep looking it up.

This isn’t a monthly debt tracker worksheet, this is a per debt template that you write in as you make payments until the debt is finally paid off and you can celebrate!

I remember the day I called to check on my student loan debt and it said “no amount is due” so vividly! It’s such an amazing feeling to pay a loan off and to pay it off early just adds the cherry on top!

The last money tracker template is a Savings Tracker. This one has more to do with money goals! In order to build up your savings accounts, you need to start with a monthly savings goal.

Or you can use this savings tracker if you are saving for something specific like a down payment on a house, some furniture, a vacation, a pool, etc. Depending on your financial situation, you need to really think about realistic goals that you can achieve.

Write in your savings goal and what you are saving for to keep your eye on the prize! Now try to find creative ways to save money on your normal expenses.

Limit Starbucks coffee to once a week or cut them out completely. $5/day will add up quickly!

Other ways I have saved money:

• cutting our cable cord
• using Ibotta when I shop in-store
• using Rakuten when shopping online
• clipping coupons or always searching online for coupons before going to a store
• limiting eating out
• buying Groupons for things
• selling things I don’t need anymore
• getting credit cards with point rewards to pay for trips (be careful with this if you aren’t able to pay off credit cards)
• getting rid of our land line (this one took me a while to do!)
• shopping at thrift stores or Facebook marketplace

Monthly Budget and Yearly Overview

The last two are simple budget printables. The first is a monthly budget template.

This budget form gives you a quick glance at all of the other worksheets in one. You can record your income, bills, expenses, debt, and savings all on a quick to look at form.

You might be able to just use the monthly budget worksheet after a few months of completing the other money templates once you get used to everything.

The last free financial worksheet in the budget planner PDF is a yearly overview. Take the totals of everything from your Monthly Budget page and fill them in on each corresponding month in the yearly review.

Then at the end of the year, you can easily add up all your separate financial transactions and see where you stand! You might be surprised in a good way or bad way depending on life for that year, but you’ll be able to make better financial decisions on where to go from here.
