*** There is some smoke out there tonight surrounding Colorado transfer portal running back Dylan Edwards. Some believe this could be a Miami/Ole Miss battle. No word on Edwards coming in to Oxford for a visit yet.

*** So as we wake up this morning, former Louisville and Tennessee edge Tyler Baron is officially back in the portal proving true the rumors floating around for the last few days. Ole Miss was a finalist and almost had Baron back in December before Louisville entered the picture. We'll have to see what happens from here...

*** Indiana portal running back Trent Howland remains on the Ole Miss campus at this hour. The visit is still going well, I am told.

*** As I reported last night, portal running back Trent Howland's visit has went exceptionally well. He remains on campus at this hour, but we expect him to wrap the visit up this afternoon. I hope to have more when he finishes, but so far and by all accounts this has been a very successful visit.

*** Indiana running back Trent Howland's visit to Ole Miss continues. He is spending tonight in Oxford.

Of course, this broke four hours ago, but for the record, Henry Parrish is now an Ole Miss Rebel once again. That makes two backs that Ole Miss has landed in the spring transfer portal cycle. I believe another is coming. Remember that Trent Howland...a portal back out of Indiana, is on campus today. I hope to have more about his visit later.

Crawford has been labeled as one of the most under-the-radar players in the portal by 247Sports. Since he entered the portal, he has collected offers from Arkansas, Auburn, Mississippi State, Kansas, Pittsburgh, Cincinnati, Georgia Tech, Virginia Tech, Minnestoa, California and Indiana this week. He is a Memphis native that played at Briarcrest Christian School from the class of 2022. No Ole Miss offer yet, but he is one to keep an eye on.

*** With the news last night of transfer edge Princely Umanmielen lilely having had surgery, according to sources, to repair a labrum in his shoulder, we believe Ole Miss will turn to the portal this spring in search of another edge. *** Just someone to keep an eye on. Ole Miss offered him out of high school. Portal entry from Missouri. I know the SEC transfer rules, but he might be willing to sit out a season, as he is young.

*** There has been a lot of chatter out there around Oregon State transfer running back Damien Martinez. We've been rather quiet about him after he entered the portal. Martinez announced five visits this morning, and there was no Ole Miss. He plans to visit Mississippi State, Arizona, Tennessee, Kentucky and Miami.

*** As of last check of the NCAA transfer portal around 10 o'clock, there are no further Rebels in it.

*** I have made it clear that I believe the Rebels are shopping for two running backs. I also expect them to be on the hunt for a cornerback. We'll see what happens with the offensive line, if there are defections and if they fill they need to fill those slots. Please don't ready anything into those comments. Negotiations are ongoing from all sides. Y'all know that.
